Competition for a candidate for the Doctoral School
Name of the unit: University of Agriculture in Krakow
Job title: PhD student 1 position
Requirements:
1. MSc degree in life sciences (forestry, biology, biotechnology or related);
2. command of English language in speech and writing, at least at B2 level;
3. documented working experience in tasks involving molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis);
4. documented working experience in tasks involving microbiological techniques (isolation of pure cultures, culturing on artificial media);
5. personal skills such as motivation for scientific work, responsibility, communication skills, the ability to work in a team;
6. an additional advantage will be prior involvement in studies realized as externally financed projects;
Description of tasks:
- field observations and sampling,
- laboratory work: molecular laboratory, mycological laboratory
- data analysis,
- preparation of research reports,
- preparation of scientific publications and presentation of results at conferences.

Employment conditions: doctoral school student, 48-month scholarship as part of the National Science Centre grant UMO-2022/45/B/NZ9/00912 “Biological and environmental grounds for the rapid expansion of pine mistletoe (Viscum album ssp. austriacum) on Scots pine and its impact on the stability of pine forests”.
Monthly scholarship: PLN 5,000 gross.
Planned start of employment: October 1st, 2022
